EATING DISORDERS: JOURNEYS OF SELF-DISCOVERY AND RECOVERY (16 minutes) Provides a combination of facts on eating disorders including signs, symptoms, risk factors and treatment methods as well as the personal stories of individuals who have struggled with eating disorders. Created for the National Eating Disorders Screening Program 1996. The personal accounts of living with an eating disorder and the desire to be free from eating disorders are very compelling.
HOW YOU LOOK IS NOT WHO YOU ARE: Teens Talk About Eating Disorders (20 minutes) A diverse group of girls and boys talk about their eating disorders, their symptoms, their feelings, how they got help, and what it’s like to be a friend of someone with an eating disorder. Healthy teens talk about the pressure to look good, and reveal what they think is really attractive. A doctor gives clear warning about the physical dangers of eating disorders and assures teens that help is available.
