COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Mental Health America believes in the value of collaborating with other groups within the community for the purpose of improving the health status of people of all ages. By working together, amazing things can happen.

The MHA actively participates in a variety of committees including:

Healthy Sheboygan County 2010. MHA staff provides leadership for the Mental Health Committee.

Young Women’s Conference. The annual conference for 6th-8th grade girls takes place at the UW – Sheboygan campus for the purpose of creating awareness about lifestyle choices that lead to a healthy and fulfilling future.

Team Blue Ribbon. Staff provides leadership for the committee that seeks to create awareness about child abuse and works to promote healthy families.  The group sponsors the annual Blue Ribbon Campaign during Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.

Every Family Coordinating Council and Sheboygan Early Childhood Council.  Participation in these groups furthers their goal of supporting families and children for improved quality of life.

Sheboygan County Coalition against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.  Staff participates in the committee that works, in part, to reduce the incidence of violence in Sheboygan County.

Youth Agency Network. The committee provides networking and educational opportunities for individuals who work, primarily, with youth.
