Welcome to the beginning of your week and the start of October! The folks at Greater Good have shared their calendar urging folks to be kind and curious this month and we share that with you today to help you jumpstart a month of mindfulness.
At MHA, the definition of mindfulness that we like to use comes from Jon Kabat-Zinn: "Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way- on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally." We always like to add "with kindness and curiosity" at the end of the definition, because kindness for ourselves and others, as well as a curious and open mind, are so important in cultivating mindful practices.
We encourage you to take a look at the calendar and take a few moments out of each day this month to practice kindness, curiosity, and overall mindfulness for your well-being. Happy October, friends!
