It is with mixed emotion, we announce the transition of the Open Door Recovery Center to our community partner Vista Care as of October. Funded by Sheboygan Health and Human Services for over 20 years, Open Door has been in our community providing a safe and comfortable place for peers with mental illness and co-occurring disorders to learn essential wellness and recovery skills. Over the last six years, MHA has provided programming and management of the center with much love and support from many community partners. Because of it's incredible growth that we've been so fortunate to witness and support, the time has come to grow Open Door into a full recovery center for mental illness and addiction. Vista Care is the company who can help Open Door take this next important step. We look forward to supporting them in their new role and watching the program grow in the years to come.
A special thank you to our Peer Specialists: Tracy Krause, Jessica Brownrigg, and Joanna Woolwine who gave Open Door friends their devotion over the years. In addition, our community partners who give so much to this community: St. Marks Church, Sheboygan Food Bank, Homemakers Group, and Zion Church. Thank you to all of our Open Door friends for the incredible memories!
Some new renovations are already in progress including new flooring, new floor plan layout, and other surprises! Due to these renovations, Open Door will be closed and will reopen mid October. Please stay tuned to the Open Door Facebook page to see their progress and upcoming programming! For more information you can contact Vista Care here.
